ERNEST R. SUMNER
Ernest R. Sumner, 86, Rogers, died Aug. 11 in a Rogers hospital. Born Sept. 9, 1890, at Vernon, Tex., he was the son of James and Mary Riddle Sumner, a member of the Methodist Church and a retired farmer and stockman.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Ratliff Sumner of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Jones, Rogers; one stepson, Howard Melvin, Rogers; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lorraine Baggett, Rogers, and Mrs. Betty Wilcox, Pea Ridge; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Rice, Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Callison Funeral Home, Rogers, with the Rev. Jack Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery under the direction of Collison.
