WATSON, Grace DINSMORE - Mrs. E.P. Watson, one of the best known and best loved women in Bentonville, died at the family home on West Twelfth Street Friday, June 4th, 1926 of paralysis. All of her children were present during her last hours with the exception of E.P. Watson, Jr. of San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Grace W. Bull of Syracuse, N.Y. who could not come. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, the Rev. A.W. Henderson officiating. The funeral was largely attended and many and beautiful were the floral offerings in admiration and respect for her. Burial was made in the City Cemetery following the services. Grace Dinsmore Watson was the daughter of A.W. and Katherine Anderson Dinsmore and was born in Bentonville, Ark. April 13, 1856. She was educated in the schools of the place and lived here all of her life with the exception of four years of the Civil War when the family was in Texas. On December 11, 1873 she was married to Edmond Penn Watson, a rising young attorney. To this union eight children were born, the eldest dying in infancy. The others are Miss Katherine Watson, Mrs. Rebecca D. DeShong, Miss Mary M. Watson of Bentonville, Mrs. Grace Watson Bull of Syracuse, N.Y., W.W. Watson, Wichita Falls, Texas, E.P. Watson, Jr. of San Diego, Calif., C.C. Watson of Okmulgee, Okla. She is also survived by a brother, Hugh A. Dinsmore of Fayetteville and a sister Mrs. Annie D. McClure of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Watson united with the Presbyterian church when but twelve years of age and was a loyal and faithful member and a worker in it during her lifetime. About two weeks ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis and later a second and third stroke. The final attack Friday morning rendered her unconscious though she lived until in the afternoon of that day. The passing of Mrs. Watson removed one of our earliest native-born daughters and was loved and respected by all who knew her. The whole city deeply sympathize with the family in the bereavement of this sweet character.
