Lucy Maye Bettis, age 69, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Cleburne County on July 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Sarah (Jackson) Bettis.
Lucy was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Quitman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Earma Lee Bettis and Billie Jean Moody.
She is survived by: two nephews, Marvin Moody of North Little Rock and Jerry Moody of Searcy; and one niece, Reba Voiles of Griffithville. Lucy is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 24, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Wesley Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Chris Carlton. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Jason Moody, Brent Moody, Gary Tulley, Chris Tulley, Gene Martin and Mark ALlen will serve as pallbearers.
