Census records show Nelson was born to John W. and Eliza A. in MI. His mother's maiden name was Wheeler and her mother Polly is with the family in 1880. Nelson is working in a stave mill. Nelson's parents are both from NY. In 1930 Nelson is living in Boone Co AR with a wife, Ana I. who is from Argentina.
