Crawford County,
Arkansas

September 12, 1952 - June 23, 2012

Gary August Spirito, 59, of Van Buren, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Anaheim, California.
He was born and grew up in Philadelphia.

He later moved to Anaheim, Calif., where he worked behind the scenes from Southland/Lifefleet Ambulance Service. In his later years, he became a resident of Arkansas, where he lived close to his three daughters for the past 18 years. He delighted in taking long walks, especially with one of his eight grandchildren. He also enjoyed the thrill and excitement of trading stocks and he LOVED the horse races. He was affectionately known as Papa to many, but more commonly known as the voice behind the bargain at "Shopping Mania." An unfortunate heart condition caused him to close the shop in 2008. He spent the last four years of his life cherishing his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Spirito and a son, Gary August Spirito Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Spirito of Anahiem, California; a daughter, Katherine Spritio of Van Buren and Mellissa Spirito of Fort Smith; a step-daughter, Cecelia Dye of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Eddie Spirito, Michael Spirito and Louis Spirito all of California.

Funeral service will be held Friday, July 6th, 2012, at 11:00am at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial will be at Dripping Springs Cemetery.
