SPRINGDALE - Earl A. Sherry 96, of Springdale died Oct. 31, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. He was born March 17, 1908, near Springdale to Albert and Pearl Tillman Sherry. He was a retail merchant for many years and owned stores in Springdale, Fayetteville, Cave Springs and Rogers. He was a retired Baptist minister and had served as a fill-in pastor for several churches in the area. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Shaver Sherry, in 1976.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elsie Dove Sherry of the home; one son, Max Sherry and wife Darla of Russellville; one daughter, Phyllis Lewis and husband Gene of Bella Vista; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Lowell with the Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. The family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Craig Sherry, Ron Findley, David Mabry, Gerald Dove, Gary Dove and John Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Sherry, Joe Sherry and Larry Cooper.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 246, Lowell, 72745.

MRS. LENA MAE SHERRY

Mrs. Lena Mae Sherry, 66, 101 Midland, Springdale, died Oct. 1 at Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born May 3, 1910, at Spring Valley, she was the daughter of John P. and Jessie E. Kelly Shaver and a member of Elmdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Sherry of the home; one son, Max Sherry, Russelville; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Cooper, Houston, Tex.; two brothers, Ray Shaver, Hindsville, and Vincent Shaver, Spring Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Tucker and Mrs. Glenna Mabry, Lowell; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.
