Mary was born to Col William Wirt and Martha Elmyra Wilson Watkins. Col Watkins was born 1 Apr 1826 in TN and died 15 Jan 1898 in Harrison, AR. He was instrumental in bringing back the children who survived the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Martha was born to Att. Thomas and Clarissa Philips Wilson. Mary (called May) married James Newton Milum in 1914.
