Edward B. Pierce, 87, of Quitman died Tuesday (April 4, 2000) at Baptist Medical Center in Heber Springs.
Born Aug. 11, 1912, in Quitman, son of the late Rufus and Ollie Freeman Pierce, he was a retired saw mill worker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church
Survivors are his wife, Flora Holliman Pierce; a son, Larry Pierce of Mountain View (Stone County); two daughters, Sue Pierce of Quitman and Anna Rust of Bellville, Texas; a stepson, Loyd Johnston of Quitman; four sisters, Willie Mae Gentry, Geneva Bettis and Dollie Teague, all of California, and Mary Duncan of Quitman; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were today at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs with the Rev. W.S. Spears officiating. Burial was in Pearson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Pierce, Bob Duncan, Bobby New, Tommy Shaw, J.D. Holliman and Don Duncan
