Orene Alice Goff, age 95, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Crownpoint Health and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend. Born in the Centerville Community of Faulkner County, Arkansas, on September 26, 1916, she was one of seven daughters of the late Oscar and Ruth Blair Peel.
Mrs. Goff was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church at Pearson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James A. Connell and Arlie Goff; and one sister, Odell Hutchins.
Mrs. Goff is survived by her son, Jimmie Connell of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Janet Taylor of Horseshoe Bend; and four grandchildren, Michael Myers, Kelly Myers Headle, James Ward Connell, and Heather Ruth Williams. Also surviving are five sisters, Hetty Moffett, Emma Clarke, Bonnie Connell, Patty Pearson, Carolyn Hall, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Palestine Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Pearson Cemetery fund, where she will be interred.
