Kenneth Moore, age 78, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. Born at Pearson, Arkansas, on January 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Othur and Claris (Smith) Moore.
A longtime resident of Cleburne County, Mr. Moore was a retired civil service employee. He was a veteran of Korea, having served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Moore was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church where he served as head usher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Otha Deane and Geraldine; and four brothers, Max, Laverne, Ferrel, and Richard.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Maudine Swinea Moore of Quitman; two sons, Darrel Moore and his wife, Kathy, and Eddie Moore and his wife, Rhonda, all of Heber Springs; one daughter, Karen Rowlett and her husband, Randy, of Quitman; one sister, Juanita Bateman of Florida; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Moore is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Olmstead Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Palestine Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Corkran officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pearson Cemetery. Joe Southerland, David Cain, Tommy Shaw, Keith England, Wayne Moore, and Marvin Logan will serve as pallbearers.
