Lifetime member of Crawford County Mounted Patrol
Virgil:
Ken Helms, 74 of Van Buren, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 in a local hospital. He was born April 26, 1935 in Fort Smith, AR.
He was retired from Ameron Paint Company in Little Rock and Desoto Furniture in Fort Smith, and he was a lifetime member of Crawford County Mounted Patrol.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Nan Helms; his parents Virgil and Myrtal Helms; and two brothers, Noble Helms and Junior Helms.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Helms; one daughter, Pat Rice and her husband, Ed of Kosciusko, MS; one son, Kenny Helms of Van Buren, AR; one sister, Dorothy Moore of Muskogee, OK; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Dora Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
