Mrs. Essie Hollis, 96, of Saint Louis, MO., passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at NHC Healthcare in Saint Charles, MO. Mrs. Hollis was born in Newport, AR., she worked as a motel maid for Executive & National Inn.

She married her husband Ross A. Hollis on March 5, 1934, he prededed her in death.

She is survived by four sons Edward Hollis and wife Kathy of Saint Charles, MO., John Hollis and wife Barbara of Saint Ann, MO., Jerry Hollis and wife Cathy of Woodson Terrace, MO., David Hollis and wife Anita of Breckenridge Hill, MO.; one daughter Lorene Ruff of Saint Clair, MO.; one brother C.A. O’Daniel and wife Jean of Pasadena, TX.; one sister Mrytle Rush of Rockford, IL.; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Ross A. Hollis; one son Mickey Hollis; parents Cal and Ida Mae (Neff) O'Daniel and sister Gladys O'Daniel.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Burch officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 12:00 PM until time of service.
