Rachel Middleton Hassell, age 98, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Seven Springs Health and Rehab. Born in Quitman on September 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lilly Copeland Middleton.
Mrs. Hassell was a homemaker, and her religious belief was Methodist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hassell, and one sister, Helen Middleton.
Mrs. Hassell is survived by two nieces, Sheila Salsman of Bernalillo, New Mexico, and Karen Britton of Colorado; and five cousins, Mary Maxson of Arizona, Sharon Ziegler of Oregon, Sarah Connell of Quitman, Ruth Ellen Sherrer of Argyle, Texas, and Mary Odine Reichardt of Richmond, Texas.
Burial was in the Quitman Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Olmstead Funeral Home. www.olmstead.cc
