Mrs. J.J. Britt {nee Sumner) was born at Vernon, Texas Feb. 12, 1889 and died at her home two miles south of Bentonville, Ark. Aug. 10, 1910; age 21 years, 5 months and 28 days. She came to Arkansas with her parents in 1899, residing in or near Bentonville until her death. She was married to Mr. J.J. Britt July 12, 1906. She was sick only a few hours and death came as a great shock to her family and friends. She was converted and joined the M.E. Church, South when fourteen years of age under the ministry of Bro. Waldrip. She lived a true christian life and died in the faith. Sister Britt was a good woman in every sense of the word - a good daughter, a faithful wife, a loving sister, a kind neighbor. Many loved ones and friends will miss her. She leaves her husband, two baby boys born a few hours before her death, parents, two brothers, two sisters and many other relatives who mourn for her in great sorrow. The funeral was conducted at the residence and her body was tenderly laid to rest in the City Cemetery at Bentonville.
