Mrs Clara Maxine Linn 89, of Damascus, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Ozark Health Nursing Center Clinton, Arkansas. She was born June 13, 1923 at Damascus, Arkansas to the late Alvin J and Lydia (Sims) Brown.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Damascus, Arkansas. After graduating from South Side High School, she joined several of her brothers, sister, and their families in California during World War II. There she served her country as a "Rosie the Riveter," working for McDonald Douglas.

Her happiest days were spent with family, with children and grandchildren gathered at her table. She was known for her homemade rolls and pecan pies, and especially her cookies. When the grandkids were asked about their favorite foods, they often simply gave the response of "Granny's cooking." They always knew the "Old Lady" cookie jar would be full of Granny's homemade cookies just for them. The love she put into her cooking carried over to her sewing. She was an excellent seamstress, making all of the clothing for the boys and a great deal for the grandchildren. She made each of the grandkids quilts that they hold dear to them even today.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Q T Linn, parents, 6 brothers, Carl, A L, A J, Doyce, Howard, and Carthie Brown, sister, Flossie Brown.

She is survived by her sons, Don Linn of Damascus, AR; Phil Linn of Bee Branch, AR; and Steve Linn of Franklin, TN; six grandchildren fourteen great-grandchildren, and one brother, Joe Brown of Damascus, AR.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren Shannon Slayton, Darren Linn, Clint Linn, Beth Tyler, Tara Gall, and Kinsey Karpowicz.
