January 28, 1896 - August 29, 1972
James D. Franklin, 76, of Rosston Road died in Ouachita Hospital today at 9 a.m. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and owned and operated a grocery store. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Guiberteau of Camden; four brothers, Otis Franklin of El Dorado; Will Franklin of Whitesburg, Tex.; Sam Franklin of Magnolia; and Clarence Franklin of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Davis of Shreveport; Mrs. Lillian McCarty of Houston; Mrs. Elverta Harbison of Texarkana, and Mrs. Oma Jacks of Magnolia, and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Proctor's Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. (Camden News - August 29, 1972)
