KETCHEM, Iva L. - Iva L. Ketchem, daughter of Brother and Sister Ketchem near Mason Valley, was born Oct. 23, 1889 and died April 7th, 1903 at 12:25 p.m. after thirteen days suffering with pneumonia. She bore her affliction with patience until death separated the precious spirit from the afflicted body to return to the God who gave it. She was afflicted from the time she was four years old, more or less, with rheumatism. In all of her afflictions she had a loving father, mother and brothers to care for her and to comfort her. She was dearly beloved by all of the family, being the only daughter of four children. She was an affectionate and obedient child to her parents. The remains were interred in the Coffelt cemetery in the presence of a large gathering of sorrowing friends and relatives. Funeral services were conducted by the writer. W.D. Joiner.
