GENTRY - Mattie V. Duffel, 81, of Gentry died Feb. 28, 2005, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Yeager, Okla., to William E. and Rose Evelyn Jackson Lyons. She spent 30 years in California before returning to Gentry, where she lived for the past 20 years. She was a weighmaster for Funsten Nut Co. in California before her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Duffel, on May 19, 1988, and her daughter, Carolyn Kauffman.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jacobson of Missoula, Mont., and Paula Tilghman of San Diego; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Burl Lyons of Gentry; two sisters, Jewell Kee of Ceres, Calif., and Rosalee Morris of Riverbank, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Gentry with Mark Evans and Dr. Robin Cowin officiating. Burial will follow in Gentry Cemetery.
