GENTRY — Lester "Shorty" Junior Gallaway, 78, of Gentry died April 15, 2004, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born May 12, 1925, in Three Sands, Okla., to Lester Ellis and Grace Elizabeth Gerard Gallaway. He was a former employee of the city of Gentry and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Gentry Masonic Lodge 222, the Scottish and York Rite Bodies, the Hazel Valley Masonic Lodge 355 and the Church of Christ in Colcord, Okla. He married Thelma Lankford on Oct. 26, 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of the home; two sons, Curtis Gallaway of Gentry and Randal Gallaway of Rogers; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two brothers, James E. Gallaway, Samuel Gallaway, both of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Roberta Colleasure and Norma Jean Taylor, both of Yakima.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Colcord Church of Christ with Larry Ellis officiating.
Burial will be at Gentry Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colcord Church of Christ or the Bridgette Millsap Scholarship Fund, c/o Gentry High School.
