Mrs. Rachel Lavina Tipton

Mrs. Rachel Lavina Tipton, 74, passed away at the Cassv111e, Mo., hospital Sunday after a serious illness of several days.

Mrs. Tipton was born March 18, 1887 at Oketa, Kans. where she was reared and was married Dec. 22, 1907 at Marysville, Kans. to Sherman Arthur Tipton. Mr. Tipton preceded her in death in 1955.

The two came to Arkansas and lived in the Hickory Creek community for many years. In 1926 they moved to Monte Ne where she made her home until last May when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Opal Brown in Exeter, Mo.

She was a member of the Baptist church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clara Etta Hall, of Pea Ridge and Mrs. Brown with whom she was living in Exeter; four sons, Howard R. Tipton and Emory W. Tipton, both of Rogers; Gilbert C. Tipton, of near Garfield, Sheldon B. Tipton of Ashdown, Ark.; two brothers, George DeGroff of Topeka, and Oliver DeGroff of Marysville, Kans.; a sister, Mrs. Amy Bailey of Hood River, Ore. and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Burns Funeral Chapel Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 3:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Tom Richards. Burial was in Rogers Cemetery under Burns Funeral Home, Rogers.
