William Thomas Kimsey, one of Gentry's oldest and highly respected citizens, and Commander of the Gentry Post of G.A.R., answered the final call of taps at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.A. Chesney, south of Gentry at 1:30 o'clock last Thursday morning, aged 83 years, 3 months and 23 days, death following a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational Church in Gentry Sunday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. I.B. Ballmer officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. A large concourse of sorrowing ones paid their last sad respects to the departed at the church and the grave. The deceased is survived by two sons, Herbert Kimsey of Seattle, Wash. and Byram Kimsey of Evanston, Ill., and one daughter, Mrs. B.A. Chesney of near Gentry. The deceased was born in Decatur, Ind. Sept. 7, 1846; married to Emma A. Woodford Nov. 29, 1878. To this union were born four children, three surviving as stated above, and Orson, who died in infancy. He joined the Union Army, 147 Reg. Inf and served throughout the Civil War. Mr. Kimsey moved from Indiana to Nebraska in 1881 and came from there to Gentry in 1900, making his home here during the remainder of his days. He was a faithful member of the Congregational church and was commander of the Gentry G.A.R. post at the time of his death. The bereaved ones have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sad hour.
