Virginia F. McNair
Virginia McNair, 79,of Fayetteville, AR, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.
Virginia was born on January 19, 1932 to Earl and Ila McNair. She was an Art teacher for the Fayetteville High School and helped set up the first art program at the Fayetteville High School under Superintendent White. In 1987 she received the 'Arkansas Teacher of the Year' award. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering at Walton Art Center's visual gallery. One of Virginia's greatest joys was in assisting her students in winning scholarships in order to pursue art careers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Earl McNair Jr.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 6, 2011 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral home in Siloam Springs. Services will be held at the funeral home chapel on April 7, 2011 at 11:00 am with internment at Oakhill cemetery.
