DeLONG, Lester R. - L.R. DeLong of Bentonville who had been visiting with his daughter, Mrs. C.A. Weed at Mitchell, South Dakota, died there Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. DeLong had gone to South Dakota to spend the winter with their daughter and her husband, Rev. C.A. Weed. Mr. DeLong, who was 83 years old, had been in failing health for the past three years. He has many friends in Bentonville who were deeply grieved to learn of his death. The body will be brought to Bentonville for burial and funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, February 14th at 2:30 o'clock in the Presbyterian Church in charge of the Rev. A.W. Henderson.

Funeral services for Lester R. DeLong, aged 83 years, who died suddenly Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Weed in Mitchell, S.D. will be held from the First Presbyterian Church, Bentonville tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the pastor, Rev. A.W. Henderson conducting the services. Following the usual custom for several years, Mr. and Mrs. DeLong left last fall to spend the winter in Mitchell with Rev. and Mrs. Charles A. Weed. Rev. Weed is a pastor of the Episcopal church in that city. Mr. DeLong had been in poor health for a number of years and the northern winters seemed to agree with him. Monday morning he was taken suddenly ill and grew worse, the end coming the following morning. Mr. DeLong was born in Chazy, on Lake Champlain in the northeast part of New York state in 1847. With Mrs. DeLong he came to Bentonville about 25 years ago where they have since made their home. Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Bert DeLong of Van Buren and Homer DeLong of Kansas City and by his step-daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Weed, at whose home he died.
