Mrs. Geo. T. Lincoln died Tuesday night at her home near Bentonville after a short illness with pneumonia. Funeral services are being held this afternoon. Capt. Lincoln is just recovering from a dangerous attack of pneumonia and but few of our people knew his wife was ill. She was a sister of Mrs. George H. Moore, who was murdered by her husband in September in Bentonville, and John Sykes, the well known traveling man.

Died, December 13, 1910 at her home in Bentonville, Ark., Mrs. Ellen Sykes Lincoln, age sixty-three years, five months and six days. Deceased was born in North Alabama July 7, 1847. Her infant membership was in the Methodist Church. Later she held membership in the Episcopal Church. After her marriage to Capt. Geo. T. {sic} Lincoln, May 31, 1876, she felt it her duty to go with him into the Christian Church, in which she held acceptable and useful membership until her death. Although there were no children from this happy union, three dear boys, Morton T. Lincoln {stepson} age twelve years; John Sykes, age ten years and Wm. Sykes, age six years, {brothers} at her marriage came under her maternal care and guidance. Their filial regard and affection for her grew with their growth in the intervening years from boyhood to manhood and still lives, though her heart and hands have been stilled in death. Miss Kate Sykes also, after they came to Bentonville, enjoyed the comforts and blessings of their home. Her intelligence and culture, her meek and amiable disposition, her kind and generous spirit, her smiles, good will and wishes made her a most lovable character, friend and neighbor. Though of a frail physical constitution her indomitable will-power and unceasing energy; her christian zeal and undying love enabled her to accomplish much for her home and friends and church. Her funeral service, conducted by the writer at her home was attended by many of her beloved friends and neighbors and a number from a distance. Her pall bearers were from the Bentonville lodge of the order of Knights Templar of which her husband was a worthy member. Her remains were laid to rest in the City Cemetery, there to await the will of Him who is the resurrection and the life. May the supporting grace and comforting spirit of the blessed Christ support and comfort the dear loved ones in their great bereavement.
