MAJORS, Albert J. - Albert J. Majors, aged 67 years, a well known resident of Bentonville, died at his home about 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5th following an illness of nearly two years. For the past seven months he had been confined to his bed. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. A.W. Henderson conducting the services. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. Mr. Majors was born of pioneer settlers at Rock Springs, near Holden, Mo. where he lived until early manhood. He then went to southwest Missouri to locate. It was here that he met and married Miss Modena Lindsey, a sister of the late Felix G. Lindsey of Bentonville. They made their home in Southwest City for a time and later moved to Bentonville where they have lived for the past 30 years. Mr. Majors united with the Presbyterian church when a lad and upon moving here transferred his membership to the local church. For many years he was a contractor and builder as well as a skilled cabinet worker. His carpenter shop was located just south of the Ferguson Lumber Company's yards. Ill health two years ago kept him at home part of the time and he was fmally compelled to give up work entirely. Mr. Majors was a quiet, unassuming man of beautiful character who loved his home and work and delighted in them. Besides his widow he is survived by a sister living in Kansas City and a brother in California.
