Henry M. Darling, 79, of Lowell died Jan. 7, 2007, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born June 8, 1927, in Shamrock, Texas, to Jake and Vesta Wilson Darling. He was a World War II United States Army veteran and a member of the Eleventh Street Baptist Church in Shamrock. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 53 years. He retired from United Texas Gas Transmission Co. in 1986 and was also a retired volunteer fireman of Shamrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Vesta Darling and stepfather, Claude Adair and two brothers, Leo Darling and Jesse Adair.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Rich Darling of the home, to whom he was married June 2, 1949; one son, Rodney Darling and wife Angela of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Amanda Riddle and husband Mike and great-granddaughter, Makenzie Riddle, all of White Deer, Texas; one grandson, Jeffrey Haddock of Fort Smith; one brother, Jerry Adair of Oxford, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Homer Rich and the Rev. Paul Payne officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Kelly, Lance Rich, Jay Phipps, David Jamison, Fred Hawley and David Higgins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Oren Rich, Buck Thomas and Robert Merriman.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 9, at the funeral home.

LOWELL — Helen C. Darling, 89, of Lowell passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born Aug. 4, 1930, in St. Paul, Ark., to Sherman and Gracie L. Ship Rich.

Helen worked as a bank teller for many years at First State Bank, which then became Worthen Bank. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, photography, bird watching and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by husband Henry Darling, brother Gene Rich, sister Wanda Faye Thomas and brother-in-law Jay Thomas.

Survivors include son Rodney Darling and Andrea of Lowell; brother Jim Rich of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughter Amanda Coke and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with graveside services Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery with Pastor Paul Payne officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
