Mrs. Shannon Laid To Rest
Funeral services were held last Wednesday September 14, at the Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Sally Mae Landers Shannon, Rev. D. G. Hindman of Melbourne officiated at the service. Mrs. Shannon was born near Lunenburg April 7, 1882 and passed away in Batesville, Arkansas, September 12, 1955 at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 5 days. In November 1902 she was married to Charles Marion Shannon who preceded her in death in April of 1949. She is survived by two sons and three daughters, Cecil Shannon of Bergman, Arkansas, Allene Shannon Long of Mt. Olive; Willie Mae Shannon Jeffery of Los Angeles; Henry B. Shannon of Crane, Missouri.
Three brothers and sisters also survive her. Robert Ewing Landers, Phillip Ernest Landers and Richard Oran Landers of Mt. Olive, Mrs. Addie Saffel of Mt. Olive, Mrs. Fannie McCaslin of Mansfield, Missouri, and two half brothers and one half sister, R. S. Landers of Dublin, Texas; L. G. Landers of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Allie Gray of Temple, Texas. Other relatives and a host of friends also mourn her passing.
