Mrs Lula Mae Powell of 214 Detroit Street died April 21 at the West Hickory Haven Convalescent Home at the age of 75, She had lived in South Lyon for four years, coming here from Arkansas. Mrs Powell was born April 18, 1896 in Arkansas. Her husband Philo Powell died in 1967. Mrs Powell was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Arkansas. Survivors include a daughter Mrs David (Verdie) Webster of South Lyon, two sons Sterling and Earl E Powell both of South Lyon; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grand children. The Rev Robert Beddingfield, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated at funeral services Friday, April 23, at 2:30 p m at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial was in Corning, Arkansas.
