Mrs. Emmie "Em" Myers, 82, of Parkdale died Friday, January 15, 1999, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Wilmot and a Parkdale resident for the past 53 years, she was a homemaker and Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. R. "Poss" Myers in 1997; her parents, Essic and Melissa Cheek McCain; four brothers, Fred, Daniel, C. J., and Jeff L. McCain; a half-brother, Albert Sammons; and a sister, Ida Bolin. Survivors are two sons, Raymond Lee Myers of Jackson, MS, and William Lloyd Myers of Dermott; two daughters, Veda Sivils of Monroe, LA, and Carolyn Lewis of Pearl, MS; a twin sister, Lennie Anderson of Oak Grove, and a sister, Polly Wolf of Wilmot; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 17, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. E. W. Ricks officiating. Pallbearers were Lee Myers, Michael Lewis, Stephen, Keith and Brian Sivils and J. L. McCain. Burial followed services at the Dry Bayou Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dry Bayou Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Polly Wolf, 138 Ashley Road 379, Wilmot, AR 71676.
