Frankie Leon McBryde

ROGERS - Frankie Leon McBryde, 92 years, 9 months and 23 days, of Rogers, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Aug. 30, 2011, at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers. He was born in Brown, Okla., on Oct. 7, 1918, to Walter F. and Rosie (Johnson) McBryde.

He served in the United States Navy in the '40s. He was a member of Monte Ne Baptist Church in Rogers. He worked for United Carbon in Ryus, Kan., and Ashland Carbon in Shamrock, Texas, as well. Frankie always had a passion for farm life and ran a Holstein dairy farm for 10 years.

In November of 1939 in Sayre, Okla., Frankie was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Johnnie Bernice Stages. They shared many love filled years until the Lord called her home in February 1978.

They are now reunited in heaven along with his father, Walter F. McBryde; his three brothers, Fred I. McBryde, Milton D. "Cowboy" McBryde and Clyde Taylor McBryde; one grandson, Frankie McBryde; one great-granddaughter, Kourtney McBryde; and one great-grandson, Cody McBryde.

Frankie is survived by one daughter, Helen Whitaker and husband Edsel of Rogers; six sons, Leon McBryde and wife Mary of Huntsville, Carl McBryde and wife Ruth of Granby, Mo., Lee McBryde and wife Carol of Jacksonville, Fla., Edward McBryde and wife Linda of Pea Ridge, George McBryde and wife Jenny of Rogers and Roy McBryde and wife Donna of Bentonville. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will accept visitors at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at Pea Ridge Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mack Mills officiating.
