LAWRENCE L. WOOD
Lawrence L. Wood, 83, Elkins, died Dec. 3 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born May 5, 1891, in West Virginia, he was the son of Melville and Susan Roberts Wood, a member of the Methodist Church and a retired oil field and timber worker.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Belle Wood, Fayetteville; three sons, Kenneth Wood, Fort Smith, Gordon Wood, Wichita, Kan., and Harold Wood, Tulsa, Okla.; five daughters, Mrs. Lola Alice Mangum, Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Nora Mae Pence, Oilton, Okla., Mrs. Betty Charvet, Odessa, Tex., Mrs. Louise Vernon, Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Virginia Gage, Ponca City, Okla.; seven brothers, Albert Wood and Woodrow Wood, Fayetteville, Walter Wood, Platte City, Mo., Otto Wood of Washington, Frank Wood and Clayton Wood, Elkins, and Wayne Wood of Texas; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Walnu Grove Community Church near Crosses, with the Rev. Basil Ledford officiating. Burial will be in Wainut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
