Mrs Joan Carolyn Rice Rives, 64, of Monroe, LA, formerly of Crossett, died on Saturday, January 25, 2003, at the E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe. Born on March 19, 1938, in Crossett to Harvey H. and Willie Mae Watt Rice, she was a member of Solid Ground Ministries of West Monroe, LA, and the Carbondale Assembly of God in Crossett and was retired from Georgia-Pacific. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ivory Gene Barnett; and a sister, Virginia Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Rives, Jr., and James Rives of Crossett; two daughters, Wiendy Logwood and Scarlett Sankey of Monroe; one brother, Billy Lee Rice of Crossett; two sisters, Gail King of Crossett and Betty Bradshaw of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two foster grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Rice, Amber Earl Rice, Mike Carter, Josh Kelley, Henry Kelley, Dennis Bradshaw, Delton Rice and Andy Ingram. Gordon Rice was an honorary pallbearer.
