Charles Reace Burt, 68, of Crossett died Monday, June 28, 2004, at North Monroe Hospital in Monroe, LA. Born September 12, 1935, in Ashley County to Walter Silas and Gladys Forrest Burt, he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service and from Georgia-Pacific after 19 years. He was a member of Jarvis Chapel Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Burt; two sons, Mark Anthony Burt of Bedford, TX, and Christian Roger Burt of Little Rock; one daughter, Teri Denise Johnson of Crossett; one sister, Maryrene Watt of Crossett; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a half-sister.
Funeral services were Thursday, July1, at 2 p.m. at Jarvis Chapel Church with Revs. Gayle Riles and Ray Hearron officiating. Pallbearers were Cory Burt, Bruce Moore, Barry Johnson, David Johnson, Glen Watt and Bobby Hamm. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Carter, Kenneth Johnson and Glenn Moore.
Burial was at Arkadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
