John Hobson Greer, Jr.
November 14, 1925 - June 13, 2012

A Funeral Service for John Hobson Greer, Jr. of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Lone Rock Baptist Church, with Reverend Doug Huskey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time, at Lone Rock Baptist Church.

Hobson passed away June 13, 2012, in Norfork, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born November 14, 1925, in Binger, Oklahoma, the son of John Hobson, Sr. and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Mitchell Greer. He married Sally Louise Francis on December 20, 1947, at Kilgore, Texas, and worked as an equipment manager in the oil industry. Hobson was a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II. Hobson lived in Norfork, Arkansas since 1986, moving from East Texas.

Hobson is survived by his wife, Louise Greer, of Norfork, AR; 2 sons, Jay Hobson Greer of Norfork, AR, and John (Jan) Greer of Vicksburg, MS; 4 brothers, June Greer of Hallsville, TX, Roy Greer of Oakland, CA, Paul Greer of Leesville, LA, and James Greer of Hallsville, TX; 5 grandchildren, John Kevin Greer, Eric Christopher Greer, Jay Hobson Greer Jr., Ethan Blaine Greer and Marrissa Dawn Greer; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Ethan and Ashley Greer.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harmon, Dan, and Noble Greer, and 1 great-grandson, Andy Greer.

Burial will be in the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas.
