Paul Lewellyn

Paul Haynes Lewellyn, 82, of Bentonville, died Sunday, Nov. 13, at a local nursing home.

Born May 12, 1906, at Memphis, Tenn. to German Oscar Lewellyn and Zella May Winningham Lewellyn, he graduated from high school in Greensburg, Kan., in 1925, and from Southwestern College at Winfield, Kan., with a degree in business administration in 1930. He was married to Virginia Curt at Liberal, Kan., in 1931. He lived at Hutchinson from 1936 to 1971, working as an accountant in insurance, real estate and building and loan, He retired in 1971 and moved to Bentonville, where he worked part-time for Western Auto for 10 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bentonville, and was an elder emeritus.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Bruce Lewellyn of Hamden, Conn.; a daughter, Martha L. Pierce of Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren, Dan, John and Julie Pierce and Megan and Curt Lewellyn, and two great-grandchildren, Racheal and Rebecca Pierce.

Memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Bentatville, with Dr. Don White officiating. Burial was in Bentonville Cemetery under direction of Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville. Memorials maybe made to Bentonville First Christian Church building fund.
