MRS. NORENE MARTIN
Mrs. Norene Martin, 71, Springfield, Mo., former resident of Bentonville, died Nov. 2 in a Springfield hospital. Born Sept. 19, 1905, in Conway County, she was the daughter of William M. and Callie P. Maxwell Mitchell and the widow of William M. (Markle) Martin to whom she was married Aug. 6, 1927 in Russellville. She moved to Bentonville in 1929 and was employed by J. and O. Variety for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Springfield.
Survivors include two sons, William T. Martin, Springfield, Mo., and Vestal Kissire, North Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Genia Flatt, Bentonville, and Mrs. Gertrude Marks, La Masa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Burns Funeral Home, Bentonville, with Walter Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery under the directions of Burns.
