Edmond McNelly

Edmond C. McNelly, 75, of Bentonville died Sunday, Sept. 5 at his home. He was born May 27, 1918, in Bentonville to Francis McNelly and Ruth Ratcliff McNelly. He was a lifetime resident of the area, a farmer, carpenter and trader of sheep and cattle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude McNelly in 1975.

Survivors are a son, Charlie L. McNelly of Bentonville; a daughter, Patsy D. Nichols of Rogers; four brothers, Francis McNelly of Bentonville, Archie McNelly of Jacket, Mo., William McNelly of Grove, Okla., and Jim McNelly of Jane, Mo.; a sister, Adeamae Stephens of Bentonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at God's Lighthouse Church on Highway 102 West with the Rev. Leroy Norton officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery. A visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gertrude A. McNelly

Gertrude Alberta McNelly, 53, of Rt. 4, Bentonville, died Tuesday at her residence.

She was born July 12, 1922, in Pea Ridge and spent most of her life in the Bentonville area. She was a member of the Haven of Rest Tabernacle Church of Bentonville.

She is survived by her husband, Edmond (Mac) McNelly of the home; a son, C.L. McNelly of Bentonville: a daughter, Mrs. Pat Nichols of Rogers; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Marler of Malakoff, Tex., and Mrs. Wanda Harmon of Anderson, Mo., and five grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Callison and McKinney Funeral Chapel in Bentonville with the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery.
