February 24, 1943 - March 22, 1969
Ellis Arnold, 26, of Route 4, Box 232, was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic accident on the Loop Road about two miles east of Norphlet. Arnold was born Feb. 24, 1943, in Texarkana, the son of Harvey and Geneva Efird Arnold. He had been a resident of Union County since 1955 and was a driver for the El Do Craft Boat Co. He was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include his father, H. C. Arnold, Camden; his mother, Mrs. Geneva Arnold, Malvern; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Cummings, Germany, and Mrs. Connie Blount, Corpus Christi, Tex.; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Arnold, El Dorado, and his paternal great grandmother of El Dorado. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Norphlet. The Rev. W. J. Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Norphlet Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Womack, Bobby Paxton, Don Paxton, Danny Ford, Tommy Arnold and Mike Arnold. (El Dorado Times - March 24, 1969)
