Mrs. Sebelle Reid, age 93, of Newport, died Thursday, July 24, 1975, in a local nursing home. She was born in Remmel July 2, 1882 (the daughter of Lewis Price Huey and Ann Elizabeth Blair). She was a member of the Church of Christ and the widow of the late Thomas Carney Reid Sr., who preceded her in death October 4, 1928.
She is survived by three sons, Henry (Henry Davis Reid Sr.) of Tuckerman, Gene (Eugene Debs) Reid of Desoto, Kansas, and Tom (Thomas Carney Reid Jr.) of North Little Rock; five daughters, Mrs. Vivian (Mary Vivian Reid) French of Newport, with whom she resided, Mrs. Jeffie (Jeffie Beatrice Reid) Rankin of Newport, Mrs. Hazel (Hazel Elizabeth Reid) Mason of McCrory, Mrs. Lily (Lillie Corrine Reid) Little of Beedeville, and Mrs. Ruby (Rubye La Von Reid) Slocum of Tuckerman, 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Holden Avenue Church of Christ, with J. L. May officiating. Burial will be in the Remmel-McCall cemetery under the direction of Dillinger's Funeral Home.
