Warren Hans Peterson, 86, of Batesville died Monday, June 25, 2007 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born December 18, 1920 in Florence, Kansas, the son of Alma Pearl (Johnson) Peterson and Hans Christian Peterson.
He served from September 1942 to March 1946 in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He married Anne Hodges April 14, 1951. He was a dairy and beef cattle farmer, rancher, and poultry farmer most of his life.
His grandchildren brought him much joy. He was proud of his Danish heritage; was a good man, faithful to all his principles; and was a friend to everyone. He was a member of the Sharp United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for 35 years. He loved the outdoors, his farm and his church.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Peterson of the home; two daughters, Carol Ann Hix of Little Rock and Shirley Manning of Batesville; six grndcln, Matt Manning, Jon-Michael Warren Manning, Mark Manning, Jennifer Anne Osite, Jordan Hix, and Coutney Hix; one great-grandchild, John Anthony Ostie, IV; a niece, Carol Ann Petersen; and nephews, Every and Larry Peterson; cousins, Roy Johnson, Betty Johnson Wilson, Goldie Johnson Sandy, all of Batesville and Pearl Johnson Morris of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Ray Peterson, Vernon Chester Peterson; and twin sister, Vernice Christina Peterson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Sharp United Methodist Church in Gainesboro with Rev. Bob Reynolds and Lonnie Sutterfield officiating.
Pallbearers are Larry Peterson, Matt Manning, Jon-Michael Warren Manning, Mark Manning, Jordan Hix, Frances Every, Nick Nesler, Ernie Johnson, Scott Vinson; honorary pallbearers, Craig Branscum, Robert Manning, Steve Hix, Gary Ennis, Dr. Dennis Davidson, Dr. Doug Bernard, Jerrell Leslie, Verdell Hodge, Thomas Wood, Jerry Lumpkin, Leland Sandy, Jim Wilson, Roy Johnson, G. W. Northern, and Rick Carter.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Friday, June 29, 2007.
