Charles L. Johnson, 86, of Batesville died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Feb. 3, 1924, at Wichita, Kan., he was the son of Charlie and Mable Silor Johnson. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He retired from Arkansas Power and Light in Batesville in 1986 and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Batesville.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Marie Johnson; a son, Larry Johnson of Batesville; three sisters, Pearl Stone of Burk Burnett, Texas, Goldie Sandy and Betty Wilson; two grandsons, Kevin Johnson and Michael Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Cody Kramer, Hallie Kramer and Taryn Beard, all of Batesville; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Connie Amoros.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Cox officiating. Burial will be in Lee's Chapel Cemetery in the Gainesboro community.
Pallbearers will be Lee Earnheart, Mark Miller, Junior Miller, Jeremy Robertson, Jason Robertson and Bryan Dickey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
