The Jonesboro Sun, Jonesboro, Arkansas, November 7, 2011:

John Teegarden, 88, of Ash Flat, AR., died Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat.

He was a jeweler and watch maker. An Army veteran of WWII.

Born June 26, 1923, in Woodington, Ohio, the son of Walter and Amanda (Beisner) Teegarden.

Survived by a daughter, Susan McKinney. a son Craig Teegarden. Sister Lois Easterday, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangments were by: Heath Oak Hill Chapel in Highland. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Highland, AR.

(Note: This funeral home stake is between a marked Bramblett grave and an old heart shaped hand crafted gravestone on which only "Smith" can now be read. This picture was taken in August 2012, and at that time two artifical flower bouquets were behind the marker. It is obvious that the funeral home stake is much older than 2011; therefore, it is assumed that someone found a discarded funeral home marker and placed new information in it. The obituary indicates that John Teegarden was buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Highland, Arkansas. The Oakland is in error because there is no Oakland Cemetery at Highland. The cemetery located there is Oaklawn Cemetery, and there is a fresh funeral home stake at that location for John Walter Teegarden.)
