KOONS, Mrs. Anson (GEARHART) - The funeral of Mrs. Anson Koons, who died Saturday afternoon at the family home near Centerton aged 69 years, was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church at Vaughn conducted by Dr. J.P. Pinkerton, former pastor of the Bentonville Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw of the Vaughn Presbyterian Church. Interment was made in the Coffelt cemetery. Death was due to blood poisoning which is said to have had its source in a fever blister on the lip. Mrs. Koons was sick only about a week. A member of the Gearhart family, one of the oldest and most respected of this section, Mrs. Koons was a sister of George Gearhart, county assessor. She was born, reared and married in the Centerton and Vaughn neighborhoods and the large number of friends and acquaintances attending her funeral paid a striking tribute to her life. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Mort Koons of Centerton and four daughters, Mrs. Cal Parker of Vaughn; Mrs. Frank Francis of Kansas City and Misses Mary and Lena Koons of Centerton. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Addie Keith and George Gearhart and a brother living in Mississippi.
