The funeral service for Richard B Bruce, 23 years old of Route 2, Alma, Arkansas was held at 3 pm Saturday in Fentress Mortuary chapel. George O'Neel, pastor of East Side Baptist church of Fort Smith, officiated. Burial, with full military honors, was in Forest Park Cemetery. The young man, who had been in the US Army for two years, died Tuesday, March 18, 1969 in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Fort Smith High School and attended the University of Arkansas for three years and held the rank of SP-4. Survivors are his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Military personnel served as casket bearers.
