Charles David Burton, 24, of Crossett died Monday, January 5, 2009, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born April 21, 1984, in Monticello, he worked for Georgia-Pacific in Crossett.
Survivors include his parents, Charles Burton of Crossett and LaVerne Johnson Carter and husband David of Johnsville; one brother, David Carter of Hamburg; one sister, Janet Burton of Monroe, LA; one niece and two nephews; his godparents, John and Rita Craig of Johnsville; two god-sisters, Jessica Riles and Abby Craig of Johnsville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Carolyn Burton and Joseph and Billie Johnson.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, in the Fountain Hill Methodist Church with Revs. Kenneth Watt and Clayton Hales officiating. Pallbearers were Alan Givens, Danny Dumas, Deith Sipes, Jason Kelly, Luke Adams and Shannon Watt. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Wooldridge, Joe Fred Yates, Donnie Carter and Tony Galan.
