Married to Hulda Fidelia Carpenter in 1873 in Izard County Arkansas. Several of his children migrated to Colorado and then to Oregon in early 1900s. Most of them settled in Coos County Oregon. His wife Hulda moved there after his death. She passed away in 1944 and is buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery in Coquille, Oregon.
