Robert Henry Parish, age 85, of Adona, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was the fourth son of Milton and Lila Parish of Ruleton, Kansas.
Robert served in the Pacific in the Merchant Marines during World War II on the USS Pat Doheny. In 1955, Robert, Reva and daughters moved to Arkansas. He retired from Arkansas Kraft after 23 years.
Robert was a member of the Adona United Methodist Church. He was a cattle farmer raising Red Poll cattle for fifty years, as well as, an active member of the Perry County Fair Board, and served as a mentor to the local 4-H clubs.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Oren, Milton and Rueben.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Reva Parish; five daughters, Patty (Jim) Mills of Paragould, Linda Parish of California, Brenda Paul of Perryville, Donna (Randy) Cossey of Adona, and Alicia (Kenny) Womack of Adona; seven granddaughters, Shannon Cooper, Paige McDaniel, Tricia Dick, April Paul, Brittany Paul, Emily Cossey, and Baylee Womack; and seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Perryville United Methodist Church with Rev. Frankie Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Adona by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to service time. Pallbearers will be Nathan Parish, Dale Parish, Jr., Joe Parish, Greg Parish, Russell Price and Drake Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Worm, Bud Leach, and Bruce Blankenship.
