HOXIE -- Linda Marie Gatewood, 51, of Hoxie died Monday, Dec. 6, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born at Hoxie, she was a former resident of Fayetteville and the Pocahontas area, having moved to Hoxie one year ago.
A homemaker, she was a factory machine operator for many years, a graduate of Hoxie High School and former student at Black River Technical College. She was of the Christian belief.
Survivors include three sons, Brett Stayton of Pocahontas, Bart Stayton of Winona, Mo., and Edward Stayton of Paragould; five sisters, Pauline Newman of Benton Harbor, Mich., Alice Lansdale of Kalamazoo, Mich., Ella Hyde of Paragould and Norma Sharp and Joann Petro, both of Hoxie; four brothers, James E. Gatewood of Little Rock, Bobby Gatewood of Paragould, Clark Gatewood of Hoxie and Jimmy Gatewood of Alton, Mo.; four stepsisters, Fern Lawson and Willie Tyler, both of Walnut Ridge, Paulette Dildine of West Plains, Mo., and Brenda Smith of Pocahontas; two stepbrothers, Junior Lewis of Ava, Mo., and Rick Lewis of Black Rock, and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Stella Irene Ledbetter Gatewood, one brother and one stepsister.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge, with James Warbington officiating. Burial will be in Whittaker Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Trent Gatewood, Jeff Gatewood, Ross Gatewood, Alvin Petro, Jesse Fry and David Gray.
Honorary pallbearers will include Michael Thompson and James Anderson.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home
