ITHACA, N.Y. -- Tiffany Quiniqueka Burns, 28, of Ithaca, N.Y., died Jan. 12 at Mt. Sanai Medical Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1975, at Shreveport, La., a daughter of Loretta Faye Williams Burns-Knighten of Gulf Port, Miss., currently stationed at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, and the late Charles Beanard Burns.

She graduated from Watson Chapel High School at Pine Bluff in 1993 and from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1997.

She was a graduate student at Cornell University at Ithaca.

She served in the Army.

She was a member of the Upsilon Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Kansas City, Kan., and the Order of the Eastern Star at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

She joined St. Peter's Rock Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff later joined New Town Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff. She attended West Point Chapel at West Point.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joffra S. Burns, Mary Etta Burns, Samuel Williams and Loraine Williams.

Other survivors include one brother, Toddrick Beanard Burns of Gulfport; one half brother, Travant/ Calhoun; one stepbrother, Cary Clayton; two stepsisters, Shelisa Buie and Frances Knighten Holloman Ellingberg; her stepmother, Crystal Burns; and her stepfather, Kizer Knighten.
