JOHN C. COLLINS
John C. Collins, 75, Gentry, died Sept. 5 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1898, in Mulberry, he was the son of Willy and Effie Pennington Collins, a member of Highfill Baptist Church, a retired farmer and was a resident of Gentry for the past 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bernice Reece Collins of the home; one son, H. Leon Collins, Gentry; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Pearl Fortenberry, Gentry; and Mrs. Barbara Barney, Wichita, Kan.; three half-brothers, Henry Ennis, Warsaw, Mo., Clarence Ennis and Jess Ennis, Sacramento, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Dora Ray, Porterville, Tex., and Mrs. Mae Byler, Austin, Tex.; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Gentry First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Holland and the Rev. Bill Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Bernece Collins
Bernece 0. Collins, 84, of Gentry, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993, at Rogers Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 11, 1908, at Elm Springs to John and Maggie Ennis Reece.
She was a homemaker. She had been a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church at Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Collins in 1974, and three sons, Eugene Collins, Bobby Collins, and John C. Collins Jr.
Survivors include: a son, Leon Collins of Rogers; two daughters, Barbara Barney of Wichita, Kan., and Minnie Fortenberry of Gentry; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church at Gentry with the Rev. M.D. Huett under direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
